Membership privacy notice
Your information, handled with care.
Simply Educated collects your full name and email address when you register for a free membership. School district or organization and professional role are optional; you can add, update, or clear them later in My Account.
How we use your information
We use your information to create and manage your account, verify your email, provide access to educational resources, and understand the professional communities we serve. We record registration dates, membership status, your membership tier, and successful login dates and activity for account administration and service security.
Resource activity
Resource usage tracking is disabled by default. If enabled, we record the resource page path, your member ID, and access time to understand resource use. We do not collect student information, uploaded classroom data, or device fingerprints through this membership system. For email registration security, we use keyed hashes of IP addresses and email addresses to limit verification-code requests; raw IP addresses are not stored in the member database.
Google Sign-In
If you choose Google Sign-In, Netlify Identity uses Google to authenticate your account and supplies your verified email and available name. If Google supplies your full name, you do not need to enter it again. If your name is unavailable, we ask only for your full name before granting resource access. Professional information remains optional. Google and your school district may apply their own account and sign-in policies. We do not request access to your Google Drive, classroom files, contacts, or calendar.
Authentication and storage
For email/password registration where code verification is enabled, Resend delivers a six-digit verification code to your email address. Codes expire after 10 minutes. We temporarily store your email, registration profile, a keyed hash of the code, and request-limit information to prevent misuse. This transient data is removed during subsequent registration requests after one day. Codes are not required for Google Sign-In. Passwords are held only in the current registration page while you enter your code; refreshing or leaving the page requires restarting registration.
Netlify Identity manages passwords and confirmed account status. Passwords are never stored in the Simply Educated member database. Netlify hosts our member records and authentication services. Secure, essential session cookies keep you signed in across visits for up to 30 days; sign out on shared devices.
For successful Google sign-ins (and established password sign-ins on Google-linked accounts), we record only your membership ID and the server date/time, plus a one-way receipt to prevent counting the same sign-in twice. We do not store authentication tokens, passwords, raw OAuth values, IP addresses, or device fingerprints in sign-in history. These new sign-in records are retained for 90 days and removed during the next successful Google or linked-password sign-in after they expire; existing historical records are not changed by this policy. Your current name and email are joined to these events only in authorized administrator reports. Website visitor analytics are not connected to this dashboard, and no anonymous visitor tracking is enabled by it.
Who can access member records
Your account details and login activity are available only to you where applicable and explicitly authorized Simply Educated administrators. They are not published in a public directory. We do not sell membership information or use it for advertising.
For administrator security and accountability, we record membership status and permission changes, including the acting administrator, affected member, previous and requested values, time, and outcome. These audit records are restricted to authorized Super Administrators. This dashboard does not enable additional browsing, download, or engagement tracking.
Retention and your choices
Member records and activity are retained for membership administration until reviewed or removed by an authorized administrator. To request access, correction, account closure, or deletion of your membership information, contact Simply Educated through the contact channels on our About Us page. No payment information is collected. All new accounts receive free membership.
